Unit was working fine on Friday, was kept in a padded camera case for last few days so I know it hasnt been dropped or bumped etc, turned it on today and it will cut on then gets to the 'AGREE' screen and cuts off. Tried plugging it into the car charger and the same thing happens but once it did get to the 'where to' screen and then froze up and cut itself off again. Unit is about 10 months old.

Hi Julie,

I have seens this problem before. I can't say for sure if your unit is experiencing the same problem but it is possible.

Sometimes the memory that stores the operating system can become corrupted. If it happens to occur in the section that deals with boot-up, the unit may lock up.

What I have done to often solve this issue is to reflash the firmware, so the bad memory location(s) are overwritten with good data.

You can do this by using Garmin's Webupdater (available at garmin.com) and connect your Nuvi to the PC with a USB cable.

Thank you for the quick response. I will try that and let you know if it works.
