Pittsburgh, PA - Ronald J. Notarius, a Ham Radio operator (W3WN/WN3VAW) from Castle Shannon and former club president and current newsletter editor for the WASHRAG, a monthly publication of the Wireless Association of South Hills, has a credibility issue.

It has been brought to our attention that in every issue of his WASHRAG newsletter, he states that his group operated as the "South Hills Amateur Radio Club".

The problem is, Mr. Notarius joined South Hills Amateur Radio Club, in 1995. The club was formed in 1993.

We have Mr. Notarius' original application to the club and we will be posting it online and in our club's newsletter for all to see.

The problem that Mr. Notarius has, is that he apparently has no knowledge of or willingly chooses to ignore the history and origins of "South Hills Amateur Radio Club".

Mr. Notarius apparently is unaware that the club's legal name, associated logos and Federal EIN number are registered under the name of the South Hills Amateur Radio Club's 1993 founding President and current Director, who created the club's name, designed the logos and has always retained ownership to both.

Mr. Notarius claims that "South Hills Amateur Radio Club" and "South Hills Amateur Radio Club, Inc." are (2) different entities. How can this be the case, when there has only been (1) Federal EIN number and (1) ownership of the club's name and associated logos?

"South Hills Amateur Radio Club, Inc." was formed, as a result of the legal incorporation of "South Hills Amateur Radio Club" by the individuals who formed the club in 1993.

Mr. Notarius can claim anything he wishes but the fact of the matter is, that the Pennsylvania State Corporation Bureau and the Internal Revenue Service, has always recognized the 1993 founding President, as the official legal representative of the club.

In one of his editorials, he wrote that the club's first meeting was at "Eat'n Park" in Bridgeville, when in fact it was at "Kings Restaurant" in Heidelberg in 1993; two years before he joined our club. Another prime example of his lack of knowledge on the subject.

Over the years, Mr. Notarius has skewed many facts relating to the origins of our club.

The actual origins of the club can be found here:

Mr. Notarius assumes that if he continues to publish a falsehood, that it will eventually become the truth. That assumption isn't going to go far with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the United States Federal Government. In fact, Mr, Notarius may find himself in legal hot water should he continue to publish inaccurate & false information about our organization and members.

In December of 1998, Mr. Notarius initiated a campaign to harass members of our club by posting comments in our club's guestbook under the alias name of "Ernie Bott". We discovered his identity by capturing the IP address that he used at his former company, Chester-Engineers. We reported his questionable activity to his supervisor and we were told they would investigate the matter and take appropriate action according to their Internet Use policy. He also instigated a mass emailing to all of our members, harvesting their email addresses from our website in an effort to persuade them to join the Wireless Association of South Hills.

Mr. Notarius has also used the WASHRAG to personally attack others, including our club's founding Vice President. He also published an unauthorized obituary with intentional incorrect information regarding one of our members.
