I have a 4GB SD card with 1000 mp3 tracks. (Turns out I learned that that is the maximum allowed!)
Problem is that on unit power-up with the card inserted, or upon card insertion, the 660 seems to be indexing the tracks, and can take 5-7 _minutes_ to complete. During this time, the screen functions appear frozen.
Garmin tech support says 'tough luck'!
Is there any way to cure this?
It would seem that microcode would use old index while building new, or offer choice of using old, or, at least, re-index in backgorund mode.
Thanks for any help.
