i have a Garmin nuvi 760 its been working fine for the past year or so i havnt really used it much untill lately anyways i updated it about 2 weeks ago and it was working fine untill today i plugged it into my pc and i left it to charge it wasnt untill like an hour later i realised it had frozen on ( loading maps .... ) screen i unplugged my nuvi from my pc and it shut off i turned it back on and it got to the ( loading maps .... ) screen then shut off again so i replugged it into my pc and it froze on ( loading maps .... ) screen again i tryed the trouble shooting that garmin recomends like updating it but my pc isnt showing that its a storage device and when i try the web updater its saying theres no device connected i have tryed holding the power on /off slider for 8 secs but nothing happens i dont know if im doing it correctly can someone please help with my situation thanks

This is most likely caused by a corrupted file and the only way to fix this is to install a modified version of firmware that will ignore the corrupted file and then go in and overwrite the corrupted file. The reason why your Nuvi can't communicate with your PC is because it is locking up before it gets to the routine to communicate. You will not be able to fix this yourself. You will have to either send it back to Garmin or us.
