Tried holding the slider in for 8-12 seconds, but my unit won't power on anymore.

It probably needs a new mainboard. I saw your pricelist, is there a high capacity battery for the Nuvi 780 too? And a quote for both services?

The Nuvi 7xx series takes the same (3) wire battery as the Nuvi 2xx & 2xxW. There is not a high-capacity battery available yet in the (3) wire design.

As for your 780, a dead GPS is very difficult to troubleshoot. There may be one or several defective parts. These parts are extremely difficult to unsolder & solder by hand as they were originally installed by a SMT (surface mount) machine.

We typically do not try to troubleshoot a dead board, as it can take several hours to do so. We prefer to exchange the main board. This allows us to repair and return your unit quickly.

Unfortunately, we do not have a 780 board in stock at the present time.
