I have a Nuvi 360 serial number 16L122766. When I power it on the "buttons" start to flash by themselves. Pressing any of the options does nothing. Eventually it ends up on a screen where making choices has no affect and stays there. I have searched the forums but have not seen a problem like this. I have also tried reset to no avail. The power button does work.

Hi Michael,

This is a symptom of a failed touchscreen. There are 4 wires on the touchscreen. (2) wires represent the vertical axis and (2) wires represent the horizonal axis.

Each pair of wires have a default resistance value. The default value of resistance is considered a "no press" value and the unit does nothing.

When you press a function, those default resistance values will change to new values that the unit will interpret as a key press and then activate a function if the function cooresponds to a specific resistence value (x/y coordinate).

What has happened is that the resistance values of your touchscreen has changed, causing your unit to be fooled into thinking that a key is being pressed, when in fact, it isn't.

You won't be able to recalibrate the touchscreen, since the default resistance values are so skewed, when you reach he calibrate screen, you may see the same flashing of selections that you do at power-up.

The only way to resolve this issue is to replace the touchscreen and we carry the replacement touchscreen for your unit in stock. We provide this type of repair service and have performed this replacement procedure hundreds of times.

Please let us know if you would like for us to repair your unit.

I was able to recalibrate but it did not fix the problem. The problem does not start right away all of the time. Sometimes I am in the middle of entering an address. Yes, I would like to have my unit repaired (assuming the price is reasonable) I did try to go to the quote section but it said you were not accepting anything until after Thanksgiving.

Yes, the touchscreen is intermittent (the resistance is changing by itself), that is why it sometimes works and sometimes doesn't.

Yes, we are trying to free up our repair schedule, so that we have nothing left in-house to repair before the holiday. However, if you can ship your unit to us quickly, we should be able to have it repaired and back in the mail before Thanksgiving.

If you are in Canada, customs will slow things down a bit.
