Our preferred method of shipping is the U.S.P.S. Priority Mail (2-3 days).  

Insured Option #1: (within the U.S.): Priority Mail ($7.85 USD) + $50 insurance ($0.00 USD) + delivery confirmation ($0.00) = Total: $7.85 USD.

Insured Option #2: (within the U.S.): Priority Mail ($7.85 USD) + $100 insurance ($2.75 USD) + delivery confirmation ($0.00) = Total: $10.60 USD.

Insured Option #3: (within the U.S.): Priority Mail ($7.85 USD) + $200 insurance ($3.50 USD) + delivery confirmation ($0.00) = Total: $11.35 USD.

Insured Option #4: (within the U.S.): Priority Mail ($7.85 USD) + $300 insurance ($4.60 USD) + delivery confirmation ($0.00) = Total: $12.45 USD.

Please include your choice of $7.85 USD (insured - $50.00), $10.60 USD (insured - $100), $11.35 USD (insured - $200) or $12.45 USD (insured - $300) + the repair fee along with your unit.

If you are located in Canada, the return shipping rate options are as follows:  

Option #1 - (to Canada): First Class Mail (no insurance): = Total: $15.50 USD.
Option #2 - (to Canada): U.S.P.S. Priority Mail ($35.00 USD) + $50.00 insurance ($0.00 USD) = Total: $35.00 USD.
Option #3 - (to Canada): U.S.P.S. Priority Mail ($35.00 USD) + $100.00 insurance ($0.00 USD) = Total: $35.00 USD.
Option #4 - (to Canada): U.S.P.S. Priority Mail ($35.00 USD) + $200.00 insurance ($0.00 USD) = Total: $35.00 USD.
Option #5 - (to Canada): U.S.P.S. Priority Mail ($35.00 USD) + $300.00 insurance ($5.00 USD) = Total: $40.00 USD.

Be sure to state on your customs form that your unit is being shipped for repair purposes only and is going to be returned to you, so that you or SHARCNET-USA won't be charged any duty fees.

A customs declaration form will be included with your shipment.

Rates for larger amounts of US insurance may be found [HERE]. Let us know if you want to insure your unit for a value greater than $300.00.

If it's more convenient for you to send the repair payment & return shipping costs later, in a separate envelope, that's fine too. Once your unit is repaired, we will email you the Delivery Confirmation and Insurance Reference numbers. You will also receive tracking status updates via email from the U.S.P.S. on your return shipment.

FED EX Return Shipping:

SHARCNET-USA now has a business account with Fed-Ex. Typically, customers send us their GPS using Fed Ex (Fed Ex small box) and include a pre-paid return label. This way, we can reuse the original box and replace the original mailing label in the resealable pouch with the new return mailing label. It's up to the customer to decide on what type of delivery service they want to use each way (overnight, 2-day, 3-day, etc.)

NOTE:  Please indicate if you are insuring and / or requesting a signature confirmation on your shipment to us, as we will need to provide you with an alternate shipping address. For International shipments: On your Customs Form, please make sure that you specify that your item is being repaired and that the items entry into the United States is classified as temporary and will be returning to you. This will prevent us from being charged a Duty fee.

UPS Return Shipping:

SHARCNET-USA now has a business account with UPS. We will accept shipments from UPS. However, unless we receive a pre-paid UPS return label with your GPS, we will ship your item back to you using the U.S.P.S.

Packaging:

Please be sure to pack your GPS well to guarantee safe delivery (preferably in a box rather than a bubble envelope). The LCD display & touchscreen is fragile. Please do not pack your unit fully exposed in standard packing peanuts. Standard packing peanuts can build up a static charge and could damage your unit. Anti-static "PINK" packing peanuts are preferred. Standard packing peanuts can be used if the unit is enclosed in a "PINK" anti-static bag. We can't be held responsible for damages to your item as a result of poor packing or by damage caused by the carrier. We do not need any chargers or cables that came with your GPS, unless you suspect that they are bad and would like for us to test them. We only need the GPS itself, although it is preferred that you ship your item in its leather case for protection.

Please do not ship your GPS in the factory box. Factory boxes are large and sending your original box back to you will result in higher shipping charges. We return ship using a Priority Mail, large video box, 9.25" x 6.25" x 2" (see picture below). Your item will be well packed and well protected. Please note that I will not be able to return factory boxes. These boxes typically need to be double-boxed and it just takes up too much time to pack. Our shipping boxes are made up in advance so we can make the repair to your item and be able to ship back to you ASAP.

Please do not ship your GPS to us until we have thoroughly discussed and diagnosed the problem with you via phone or email. We have been asked as to why we don't post our shipping address on this website. The reason is, because we want to make sure that your unit is a brand & model that we repair; that it is repairable and that we have the parts in stock. If we posted our address, we would have all kinds of things showing up at our door. Don't laugh... it has happened! Once we have fully diagnosed the problem with your item and verified that we have the parts in stock, we will provide you with our shipping address.

IMPORTANT:  If you have a PIN code set for your GPS, please either turn it off or supply the PIN code on a piece of paper along with your GPS. We will be unable to repair and / or test your GPS if the PIN has been set. Any unit received requiring a PIN will be returned to the owner with return postage & $5.00 service charge due. Sorry, but we just don't have the time to track down PIN numbers. It also diverts our time that could be spent on assisting other customers.

Please remove any SD cards prior to shipping, UNLESS they contain information necessary for normal operation of your GPS, such as a map. Please do not place any identification labels across the seams of your device as it makes makes it harder to take your device apart.

We receive many units for repair each week, therefore please make sure that you include a copy of the quote that you received and please include your legible name and address on the quote, which will help identify what repairs need to be performed on your unit and the address you desire to have your unit sent to. Please be sure to also include your payment (if other than PayPal), which includes return shipping costs.

Please allow us ample time to thoroughly evaluate and repair your unit before requesting a status update. Certain problems, especially intermittent ones require longer time to evaluate and repair. Status updates requests only slow down the repair process. We will contact you via email when your unit has been repaired. We are closed on Saturday & Sunday and during US National holidays.

Shipping Address Verification:

Please make sure that your return shipping address is correct. Missing information such as an apartment or unit number will prevent the carrier from delivering your repaired unit back to you. We are not responsible for returned shipments due to incorrect address information supplied to us by the customer. Revised shipments with new postage will be made at the customer's expense.

Unpacking your GPS:

When you receive your unit back from us, please do not use a long knife to open the box. Use a short and sharp object to score the packing tape on the sides of the box. The box contains a strip (left of the delivery confirmation label) that when pulled, will open the length of the box. Please do not use a knife of any kind or length to remove the anti-static (pink) bubblewrap bag around your item. Doing so may damage or scratch your item. The bubblewrap bag is sealed with transparent scotch tape and can easily removed by hand.
